Safari Tour Guide
Chad Wratten – Owner

Wild Cherry Adventures is owned and run by Chad Wratten. Chad got into tourism in his early twenties and almost immediately fell in love with the way of life. The Kruger national park was his office and life was good. Over the next 10 years, he worked all over Southern and East Africa. However, he particularly enjoyed his safaris in Namibia. He earned his National Tourism Guide Qualification with SATOUR and FEGASA.

Then in 2004, he opened his own business by taking over the Cardboard Box Backpackers in Windhoek Namibia. The desert was calling and in 2007, he opened Wild Cherry Adventures specializing in safaris to Sossusvlei. Over the following few years the Namib Desert was his home. He also took on four walks across the Namib Desert covering over 2500km. The last one was for charity (Giraffe Conservation Foundation) where he walked 300km through the Kaokoveld up to the Kunene River on Namibia’s border with Angola.

Chad believes a great safari is made up of a few elements: well-spoken knowledgeable guides, good food, comfortable sleep but most importantly, it must be fun.

Sedney Gainob – Head Guide

Our head guide Sedney Gaingob leads most adventures to Sossusvlei. Sedney has been working with Wild Cherry for 8 years and loves being out in the desert almost as much as Chad. He is a well-accomplished bush chef and will almost certainly create you a masterpiece on the Braai (BBQ).

The guides that Wild Cherry Adventures employ all have their NATH desert and Wildlife Guiding Qualifications. They have also all done their Emergency First Aid Certification.
